First and foremost, let me thank you for visiting my site!

 

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in the city, I was faced with various challenges, but there was always a constant in my life that kept me grounded. It was drawing! I would get lost for hours on end in the stories and images that I created for myself and the world seemed to open up for me and offer endless possibilities!

 

I now love to illustrate for my own children and always wanted to put art to the many stories I had created over the years. One of my favorites is the story of a child named Leo (named after my oldest son), who was born and raised on a starship named "Prudence". He befriends a little service 'bot that he names Tony (named after my youngest son) and finds a like soul on their lonely journey through the cosmos. I had particular fun designing Prudence, a ship that seems to have its own personality and is home to not only our hero of the story, but to a living forest that has its own hidden mysteries.

 

The story is meant to serve as an introduction to characters in what I hope can become a series of books, showcasing the continuing adventures of Leo as he learns valuable lessons in friendship, loyalty, diversity and acceptance in a fun and vibrant sci-fi universe.

 

I believe that my book will appeal to the tastes of children that are more technologically savvy in this day and age and the story is focused on current market trends pointing to the ever increasing popularity of science fiction and adventure stories. The rich colors and digital imagery incorporated into my traditional artwork will appeal to children that have been saturated by the digital mainstream, but continue to offer a more traditional "back to paper" alternative; something tangible that they can hold in their hands and offer valuable life lessons with a likable character that many children can associate with and help to stir their imaginations!

 

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed creating it!
